C. J. Knobloch, Jr.
The son of a blacksmith born on the bayou
A career with the state he did pursue
During the past 50 years or more
He developed a keen interest in Cajun Folklore.
So C. J. returned to his roots as a little boy
Where in the blacksmith shop he first made a toy
And then this self-taught artist carved a duck
Soon to carve other items he would try his luck.
So his first public showing was in 1974
And with this success he attempted even more
Carving many wooden items by hand
This son of a blacksmith from Cajun Land.
He prefers carving small items as you can see
Fish, birds, and miniatures are his specialty
Than as anyone can very plainly see
Much of the little boy remains in me.
